The Characteristics of Florentine Painting as Reflected in the Work of MasaccioThe Italian Renaissance was one of the most productive periods in thehistory of art, with life-size numbers of outstanding masters to be foundin many centres and in all the major fields painting, sculpture, andarchitecture. In Florence, in the first one-half of the fifteenth century,there were great innovators in all these fields, whose work marked abeginning of a new era in the history of art.
